Travelling in Siem Reap in a tuk tuk

With a constant influx of tourists to the country, travel to Cambodia is easier than ever before. Below you can find different ways to get to Cambodia by air, by land and by waterway.

By Air
There are different flights between Phnom Penh or Siem Reap and neighboring countries. So if you plan to fly to Cambodia, you can consider flying via other neighboring countries as follows:

Vietnam: There are different daily flights between HCMC – Siem Reap; HCMC – Phnom Penh; Ha Noi – Siem Reap; Ha Noi – Phnom Penh. All flights are operated by Vietnam Airlines.

Thailand: There are daily flights between Bangkok – Phnom Penh operated by Thai Airways and Bangkok Airways; Bangkok – Siem Reap by Bangkok Airways.

Laos: There are flights between Vientiane and Phnom Penh operated by Laos Airlines and Vietnam Airlines; Siem Reap – Vientiane and Phnom Penh – Pakse by Laos Airines.

Singapore: There are different flights between Singapore and Phnom Penh/Siem Reap by Silk Air.

Malaysia: Daily flights between Kuala Lumpur and Phnom Penh.

Hong Kong: There are flights  operated by Dragonair between Hong Kong and Phnom Penh.

China: There are flights between Guanzhou – Phnom Penh by China Southern Airlines and between Shanghai – Phnom Penh by Shanghai Airlines.

Taiwan: Eva Air and Mandarin Airlines operate flights between Phnom Penh and Taipei.

Nowadays there are more and more low cost airlines springing up servicing different routes in South East Asia. This makes traveling between different cities in the region easier and with very reasonable costs.

By Land and by Waterways
Vietnam: There are international crossings between Cambodia and Vietnam at Bavet (or Moc Bai, Tay Ninh in Vietnam) and Kaam Samnor (or Chau Doc in Vietnam). The latter is by boat on the Mekong River which offers breathtaking scenery.

Thailand: There are crossings between Thailand and Cambodia at Cham Yeam (Koh Kong); Chorm (Oddar Meanchey); Daung (Kamrieng-Battambang); Poi Pet (Banteay Meanchey); Prom (Pailin); O Smach (Oddar Meanchey).

Laos: You can travel between Cambodia and Laos at Dong Kralo (Stung Treng), still by far this route is used mostly by adventure travellers.
