Locality: Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Thai, Ha Bac, and Tuyen Quang Provinces.
Customs and culture
The Nung worship their ancestors and spirits. They are also influenced by Confucius philosophy. Nung villages are often built on hillsides and traditionally the Nung live in houses-on-stilts
Language
The Nung language belongs to the Tay-Thai Group. The Nung have a written language called Nom Nung (Nung scripts) from the 17th century.
Dress:
The Nung mainly wear indigo attire.
Economy:
The Nung cultivate rice in submerged fields and corn.
