Customs and culture
The Gia Rai believe in Giang – the King of Heaven who has the power to everything on earth. They live in houses-on-stilts and their society is matriarchal. The girl decides when and whom they'll marry. The husband lives with his wife family and the children take the family name from the mother.
Language: Gia Rai language belongs to the Austronesian Group.
Dress: The Gia Rai ladies wear a skirt and a short-sleeved vest.
Economy: The Gia Rai live on slash-and-burn cultivation.
