THE KHANG

Derivatives:  Xa Khao, Xa Xua, Xa Don, Xa Dang, Xa Hoc, Xa Ai, Xa Bung, and Quang Lam
Population:  10,272 people (as of 1999)
Locality:  Son La and Lai Chau Provinces.

Customs and culture
The Khang live in houses on stilts. The house has a kitcchen and a fire place.
The Khang worship their ancestors.
After the wedding, the bride moves into her husband's house.
The women has a tradition of dyeing the teeth black and chew betel nuts.

Language: Khang language belongs to the Mon-Khmer Group.

Economy:  The Khang practise slash-and-burn agriculture
