Locality: Son La and Lao Cai Provinces.
Customs and culture
The La Ha live in houses on stilts with two entrances and ladders at both ends.
After the marriage proposal, the boy would live in the girl's family a few years before the official wedding ceremony is held. After the wedding the girl moves in her husband's family and takes his family name.
The La Ha believe in animism and worship only the father's spirit after his death.
The La Ha have a celebration to honour their parents every year.
Language: The La Ha language belongs to the Kadai Group, a sub-group of Thai-Kadai Family.
Dress: The La Ha dress the same as the Black Thai.
Economy
The La Ha live on slash-and-burn farming. Some do wet rice farming with advanced techniques nowadays. The La Ha don't weave their own cloths.
