ESSENTIAL OF INDOCHINA
Day1 Arrival in Vientiane.
City Tour of Vientiane-Luang Phabang (QV103: 1700-1740)
Arriving at Vientiane
Airport, you’ll be welcomed and escorted to the city of Vientiane.
Starting the tour of Vientiane with Vat Sisaket, with its thousands
of miniature Buddha statues, Vat Prakeo, Vat Simuang, the That Luang
Monument and Vientiane’s own Arc de Triomphe, the Patouxai Monument.
And then we’ll visit a state-owned workshop producing ceramics,
woodcarving, bronze and copper work as well as traditional Lao musical
instruments.
In the afternoon,
transfer back to the airport for the flight to the Royal Capital
of Luang Phabang, a World Heritage Site. Overnight in Luang Phabang.
Day2 Luang Phabang-Pak Ou Cave-Luang Phabang (B/L)
After breackfast, we’ll visit the former Royal Palace, now the National
Museum. Then we’ll take the boat to PakOu cave on the
Mekong
River to visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves. Thousands of gold lacquered
Buddha statues are crammed into the two caves carved out of a towering
limestone cliff. Move on to visit riverside village where
rice wine is produced. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day3 Luang Phabang-Vientiane (QV104: 1810-1850)

After breackfast, we’ll visit Vat Xieng Thong, Vat Sen, Vat
Visun and Mount Phousi with panoramic views of Luang Prabang. Then we’ll continue
with a visit to Kaungsi waterfall, the weaving village ( Phanom
), Xangkhong where traditional Lao textiles are woven on ancient
wooden looms.
In the afternoon, we’ll take you back to Luang Phabang Airport for
the flight to Vientiane. Arriving in Vientiane, we’ll take you to
the hotel. Overnight in Vientiane.
Day4 Vientiane City Tour-Hanoi (VN840:1740- 1840) (B)
In the morning,
we’ll visit Vat Simuang with its famous stone column that marks
the spot where the city of Vientiane was founded. Continue to the
National Museum which documents the history of Laos.
In the afternoon,
we’ll take you to Vientiane Airport for your flight to Hanoi. Arriving
in Hanoi, you’ll be escorted to your hotel. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day5 Hanoi-Halong Bay-Hanoi (B/L)
We start at 8.30
for the 3.5 hour drive(170 km) from Hanoi to Halong
Bay-A World Heritage Site.
The drive goes through the Red River delta, so we'll have plenty
of chance for taking photos of Vietnamese farmers tilling the vast
green paddy field. At half way, we'll have a visit to a handicraft
workshop with fine clothes and embroidered paintings. Upon arrival
in Halong city, we board our private boat, cruise for five hours
through many green limestone mountains on the pristine emerald water
of this World Wonder. Visiting the beautiful limestone caves
and enjoying the fresh local seafood are highlights of the trip.
After the cruise, we drive back to Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day6
Hanoi Tour-Hue (VN245: 1240-1350) (B)
A.M:
Visit the Temple of Literature (The First University of Vietnam)
and the famed Old Quarter dated back to the 11th century.
Then we’ll transfer you back to the airport for your flight to Hue.
P.M: Arriving in
Hue, we’ll escort you to the city and we’ll explore the Ancient
Citadel of Hue. After the tour, we’ll head to our hotel. Overnight
in Hue.
Day7 Hue-Hoian (B)
A.M: Hue River Cruise
to visit the Thienmu Pagoda and king Tuduc’s tomb.
P.M: Drive Hue-Danang-Hoian.
Visit the Marble Mountains en
route. Overnight in Hoian.
Day8 Hoian-Myson-Hoian (B)
A.M: Visit the
Cham ruins of Myson which dated back to the 7th century-A
World Heritage Site.
Drive back to Hoian.
P.M: Tour of Hoian
Ancient Town. Overnight in Hoian.
Day9 Hoian-Danang-Saigon (VN321:0820- 0930)-Cuchi
Tunnels (B)
A.M: Take the morning
flight to Saigon. Arriving at Saigon, you’ll be escorted to the
city.
P.M: Tour to the
legendary Cuchi Tunnels where the Vietcong gained victory over the
US troops during the Second Indochina War. Drive back to Saigon. Overnight in Saigon.
Day10 Saigon-Phnom Penh (VN827: 1140-1240) (B)
A.M: Walking tour
of Saigon including the Cathedral and Benthanh Market. Transfer
to the airport for the flight to Phnom Penh of Cambodia.
P.M: Arriving in
Phnom Penh, you’ll be escorted to your hotel. Afternoon tour with
the Toul Sleng Museum
and the Killing Field of Choeung Ek. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
Day11 Phnom Penh-Siem Reap (FT996:1750- 1835) (B)
Starting at 10
A.M, we’ll head out for the tour of Phnom Penh. We will visit Wat
Phnom, the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, and the National Museum,
with many pre & post Angkor artifacts. We’ll have a stroll on
the bank of the Mekong River
with scenic view before getting back to the airport for your flight
to Siem Reap, the home of the World Heritage Temples of Angkor. Arriving in Siem Reap, our guide and car will escort
you to the hotel. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day12 Siem Reap (B)
Morning visit to
Angkor Thom – South Gate,
back on the bus to drive to the Bayon in the center of Angkor Thom.
Enjoy a guided walk and free time at the Bayon. Walk to Elephant
Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King, Royal Enclosure and the
Phimeanakas.
Return to Siem
Reap for lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon
enter Angkor Wat after lunch and a short rest. Allow 2 to 3 hours
for a guided tour, including free time for the passengers to explore
the upper levels of the Angkor Wat Temple.
Late afternoon,
drive to Phnom Bakheng from Angkor Wat, to climb to the hilltop
temple to enjoy a sunset view over the countryside. Overnight in
Siem Reap.
Day13 Siem Reap (B)
Rise early in the
morning before dawn. Guide meets the group and takes them to enjoy
sunrise over Angkor Wat from the Western Entrance or inside the
temple itself. Return to the hotel for breakfast before returning
to the Angkor Complex. Take a long morning drive through the countryside
to visit Banteay Srey with some of the most impressive deep sculptures
found in the region.
In the afternoon
take a trip to visit Banteay Kdei, Ta Prohm and Takeo. Overnight
in Siem Reap.
Day14 Departure (B)
You have free time
until we transfer you to the airport for your flight to Bangkok.
End of service.
