INDOCHINA
Day1 Arrival in Hanoi
You’ll be welcomed
at the airport and escorted to your hotel. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day2 Hanoi city tour (B)
We have full day
exploring this 1000 year old capital of Vietnam. We’ll visit: HoChiMinh
area (maybe HoChiMinh Mausoleum will be closed at this time for
annual maintenance), the Temple of Literature, the Fine Arts Museum,
The Hilton Prison and HoanKiem lake. In late afternoon, we’ll take
a ride on our rickshaw weaving the Old Quarter of Hanoi. In the
evening, we’ll have one hour enjoying the traditional water puppet
performance. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day3 Hanoi-Perfume pagoda-Hanoi (B)
A.M: We’ll drive
to Perfume pagoda, then enjoy one hour rowing boat trip on the scenic
Yen River along the HuongTich mountain range to the gate of the
Buddhist world.
P.M: Hike to the
top of the HuongTich Mountain where HuongTich (Trace of Fragrance)
is located. During the festival time which is from January to April,
Perfume Pagoda receives about 30 000 Vietnamese Buddhist Pilgrims/day.
Overnight in Hanoi.
Notes: This day trip may be hard for those that have difficulties in hiking.
Hiking boots are advised.
Day4 Hanoi-Halong Bay (B,L,D)
We’ll drive through
the Red River Delta to Halong Bay.
Upon arrival, we’ll embark our traditional junk, have a French wine
as the welcome drink. The rest of the day is for enjoying
the cruise on the pristine emerald water of Halong Bay. We’ll visit
SungSot amazing cave and Titop Beach before docking for the night.
Overnight on board the junk in the wilderness of Halong Bay.
Day5 Halong Bay-Hue (VN247: 1720-1830) (B,L)
After having breakfast
in the tranquility of Halong Bay,
we’ll take our little sampan to visit the secret Luon cave. Then
we’ll continue our journey with more cruise to BaiTuLong Bay. After
lunch on board, we’ll disembark our junk and drive back to NoiBai
airport for the flight to Hue. Overnight in Hue.
Day6 Hue (B)
A.M: Cruise of
the picturesque Perfume river to ThienMu pagoda and former king
MinhMang’s tomb;
P.M: Visit the
tombs of former kings TuDuc and KhaiDinh and the ancient Imperial
Citadel. Overnight in Hue.
Day7 Hue-Saigon (VN251: 0920-1040) (B)
A.M: After breakfast,
we’ll have a transfer to the airport for the flight to Saigon;
P.M: Saigon city
tour including: The Re-unification palace; The China town, BinhTay
market and ThienHau pagoda; The Emperor of Jade Pagoda. Overnight
in Saigon.
Day8 Saigon- CaiBe floating market-VinhLong-CanTho (B, L)
In the morning, we drive for 3 hours to Cai Be, then we'll take
a boat trip to Vinh Long. During the trip we'll enjoy the bustling
floating market; have the tropical fruits right in an orchard; visit
family businesses such as pop-corn, rice-paper making…We'll have
lunch at a bonsai garden. After the boat trip, we'll get back to
the car and drive 1 more hour to your hotel in CanTho. (the boat
trip to Vinh Long including lunch takes 3.5 hours). Arrive
in CanTho around 4 pm. Overnight in Cantho.
Day9 CanTho Floating market, Thonot Stork Sanctuary (B)
At 6:00,
we'll take one hour boat trip to the Cai Rang floating market, on
the way back visit a local orchard to taste some seasonal fruits.
(This boat trip is about 2 hours). After the boat trip, we'll get
back to the hotel and have some time relaxing before driving 45
km to Thotnot to visit a bamboo-basket making village and the Stork
Sanctuary. Overnight in CanTho.
Day10 CanTho-ChauDoc (B)
A.M: Drive CanTho-ChauDoc,
visit: fish-breeding farms and houses on stilts, and the weaving
handicraft of the Cham minority.
P.M: Drive to Sam
Mountain to watch sunset over Cambodia. Overnight in ChauDoc.
Day11 ChauDoc-PhnomPenh (B)
Free at leisure
around ChauDoc town and take a speed boat trip at 7.00 A.M to PhnomPenh
(6-7 hours).
P.M: Arrive in
PhnomPenh, transfer to your hotel and enjoy half day city tour of
PhnomPenh. We’ll visit the Silver Pagoda, the Royal Palace,
the National Museum and have a walk on the Mekong River Bank. Overnight
in PhnomPenh.
Day 12 PhnomPenh-Siem Reap (FT 992: 0955-1040) (B)
Breakfast at hotel
Transfer to the
domestic airport for flight Phnom Penh-Siem Reap.
Start the discovery
of the South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon, Elephants Terrace, and
Terrace of the Leper King and Ta Prohm temple.
In the afternoon
visit the majestic Angkor Wat until sunset. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 13 SiemReap Angkor Complex (B)
Breakfast at hotel.
Visit Banteay Srei
and Banteay Samre
Explore Kravan,
Pre Rup, Mebon Oriental, Ta Som, Neak Pean and Preah Khan Temples.
Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 14 SiemReap- Vientiane. ( QV522: 1000-1230)- Luang
Phabang (QV103: 1700-1740) (B)
Breakfast at hotel
Transfer to Siem
Reap airport for the flight to Vientiane. Afternoon tour of
Vientiane. Transfer to the domestic airport for the flight to Luang
Phabrang.
Over night in Luang Phabang.
Day15

After breackfast, we’ll visit Vat Xieng Thong, Vat Sen,
Vat Visun and Mount Phousi with panoramic views. Lunch at local
restaurant, then continue with a visit to Kaungsi waterfall,
the weaving village ( Phanom ), Xangkhong where traditional Lao
textiles are woven on ancient wooden looms. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day16 Luang
Prabang-Pak Ou-Luang Prabang
(B)
After breackfast, we’ll visit The former Royal Palace, now the National
Museum. Then we’ll take the boat to PakOu cave on the Mekong
River to visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves. Thousands of gold lacquered
Buddha statues are crammed into the two caves carved out of a towering
limestone cliff. Move on to visit riverside village where
rice wine is produced. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day17
