The expansion and upgrade of the Rex Hotel in downtown HCM City into a five star hotel is estimated with a cost of between USD$14 and USD$19 million dollars. The largest undertaking is the construction of a new building. This addition to the hotel will contain 73 business suites, a department store, a recreational area, a games room, and an 800 seat conference hall. The developments are expected to be completed by 2005.
