On the trip, we explore thoroughly the most popular temples as well as the rarely-visited ones. After the tour, we have the full picture of the Angkor Temples with the legends, the mystery, the historical facts, and the stunning carvings lying beneath the forest-covered masonry. At the end of the trip, we have a cruise into the fresh water of the Tonle Sap Lake, the source of life for many communities in Cambodia.

The tour pace is moderate and accommodation is 2-3 star hotels. Angkor Explorer is a cultural adventure for our travellers who would like to have a complete knowledge of the Angkor Temples.

Day 1: Arrive Siem Reap (No Meal)
Arriving at Siem Reap, you are welcomed by our Cambodian tour guide and transferred to the hotel. Then we start our discovery of the Angkor Temples with a tour to the Roluos Group.

The Temples of Roluos, the capital of Cambodia under King Indravarman I (reigned from A.D 877-889), were among the earliest temples built by the Khmers marking the beginning of Khmer Classical Arts.

At Rolous, we tour the temples of Preah Ko (constructed by Indravarman I in the late 9th century and dedicated to the King's ancestors), Bakong (built by Indravaman I and dedicated to God Shiva) and Lolei (built by Yasovaman I and dedicated to the King's parents and maternal grandparents). Then, we travel our way back to town for refreshment.

Day 2: Angkor Temples (B)
Optional: Early sunrise over Angkor Wat. Then drive back to the hotel for breakfast.

Our morning is dedicated to the spectacular and much celebrated of all: Angkor Wat. We have a guided tour through the 3-level of Angkor Wat and have time to  wander ourselves back in time in this fabled world. At mid day, we travel back to town for refreshment.

In the afternoon, we continue our tour onto Angkor Thom, the South Gate, the Bayon, Baphuon, the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King. Enjoy free time at leisure for the remainder of the day.

Day 3: Angkor Temples (B/L)
Breakfast at the hotel.
Our morning tour is through the green countryside with tranquility and peace to the citadel for women: Banteay Srei, 25km away from town. Then, continue onto the River of 1000 Lingas which include rock carvings in the riverbed representing Gods of Brahma.
Have picnic lunch en route.

In the afternoon, we tour Banteay Samre Temple and Banteay Kdei, Ta Prohm, Ta Keo and finish with a spectacular sunset from Phnom Bakheng.
Free time for dinner.

Day 4: Siem Reap - Phnom Kulen - Beng Mealea (60km) (B/L)
Breakfast at the hotel.
Today, we travel out of town through jungles and the countryside of Cambodia to the less-visited temples of Angkor: Phnom Kulen and Beng Mealea.

Phnom Kulen was where Cambodia was proclaimed independence from Java by King Jayavarman II in 802. Phnom Kulen has a nice setting of jungles and waterfalls, and nowadays is the most sacred site for the Cambodian pilgrims.

Beng Mealea was constructed in the 12th century by King Suryavarman II and has similar architecture to Angkor Wat. Nowadays, Beng Mealea is almost hidden by forests.

We have time to explore thoroughly the temples at these 2 sites with picnic lunch en route. In late afternoon, we travel back to Siem Reap and you enjoy free time at leisure.

Day 5: Siem Reap - Grand Circuit - Tonle Sap Lake - Siem Reap (B)
Breakfast at the hotel.
We travel back to jungles for the hidden treasures again. This morning, we explore the Grand Circuit with Prasat Kravan, Pre Rup, Neak Pean & Preah Khan temples. At mid day, we travel back to town for refreshment.

In the afternoon we enjoy the fresh air of Tonle Sap Lake on a cruise amid the floating villages.
Free time for lunch and dinner.

Day 6:  Depart Siem Reap (B)
Breakfast at the hotel.
We have free time until our tour guide and driver come back and transfer to the airport for the departure flight. We trust you had a wonderful adventure holiday back in time exploring thoroughly the legendary world of Angkor.
