Travel Guide to the Bang Lang Stork Sanctuary, Can Tho

The stork sanctuary is 1.5 hectares in area. The best times for observing the storks are early morning (0600-0700 A.M) when the storks depart the nests to look for food and at dusk (1650-1800) when they come back to the nests to roost. The most crowded period is from late August to February when food is abundant and when the storks lay and incubate eggs.

The stork sanctuary was started in 1983 when a flock of several storks came to the farm of a family in Thot Not, Can Tho. The host family since then has done their best to make the habitat as good as possible for the birds which makes them come more in number.
