This is a cultural adventure tour and it doesn’t require much physical exertion. There are leisurely walks and hikes on the tour for you to soak in the lovely natural landscape. The pace of travel is moderate. Accommodations are at boutique hotels with lovely view of the surroundings. Daily breakfasts are included but not the other meals.

The trip can be done all year round but recommended and best done during the dry season: November – April.

Breakfast at the hotel.
5-hour trip to Sapa via the expressway. The hill station is right at the base of the highest mountain peak in Vietnam – Mount Fansipan. Sapa is an amazing place of sublime natural beauty and with traditional ethnic cultures.

In the afternoon, walking amid the heavenly Muong Hoa Valley to visit Lao Chai and Ta Van Villages, home to Black Hmong and Giay Peoples.

Morning trip to the O Quy Ho Pass, the highest mountain pass in Vietnam (2,000m above sea level) and adore the sublime nature at the Gateway to Heaven.
Afternoon walking tour to the Cat Cat Village and Cat Cat Waterfall.

Day4 (Sunday) Sapa – Bac Ha Market (100km) – Ha Giang (200km) (B)

Breakfast at the hotel.
Early trip to visit the Bac Ha Market and observe the colorful ethnic gathering for the weekend.
Then continue our journey through spectacular landscape between Bac Ha and Ha Giang. This road is among the least traveled roads in Vietnam by foreign visitors. Arriving at Ha Giang City in late afternoon, check into the hotel and have free time.

Day5 (Monday) Ha Giang – Dong Van Plateau (Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Dong Van) (150km) (B)

Breakfast at the hotel.
Our road today travels on mountainsides going up all the way as we climb the Dong Van Plateau, an amazing rock plateau with unreal beauty. It is over 1,000m above sea level and it is cool all year round. The ethnic minorities inhabiting the plateau are charming people that you’ll definitely love to learn more about.

As you keep going on higher and higher altitudes, the more spectacular scenery becomes and the views are more breathtaking. Do not waste any chance to savor the beauty. Once you settle into the plateau, you’ll be in a different world. We’ll visit the old Residence of the King of the Hmong at Dong Van – the Vuong Family.

Day6 (Tuesday) Dong Van Plateau: Dong Van – Lung Cu – Lung Tao – Dong Van/Afternoon visit Dong Van Old Town (B)

Breakfast at the hotel.
Explore the Rock Plateau of Dong Van with a car trip to Lung Cu Flag Tower. We’ll have an opportunity to learn about the Lo Lo Ethnic People on a visit to their village at Lung Cu. Then, proceed in a loop to visit Lung Tao with amazing rock formations and Pho Bang – home to a Chinese community.

In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour of Dong Van Old Quarter and getting more understanding of the history of the little township.

Day7 (Wednesday) Dong Van – Me Pi Leng Pass – Meo Vac – Ha Giang (B)

Breakfast at the hotel.
We check out of the hotel and drive onto the Road of Happiness which has an amazing history. Much of the morning is for gazing at and adoring the unbelievable landscape at the Ma Pi Leng Pass, among the most sublime mountain passes in Vietnam and with the deepest canyon in the country.

Then proceed to Meo Vac and follow a hidden road amid serrated ridges of the rock plateau to Yen Minh Town. Join the scenic road back to Ha Giang City.
Overnight in Ha Giang.
