Tour Theme/Activity: Off-the-beaten track, Ancient village, Amazing architecture

A half a day tour from Hanoi to Nom Village and Nom Pagoda in Hung Yen, northern Vietnam.

Tour Overview

Some long time ago, northern Vietnam was known for idyllic villages with slow-paced agrarian life. The villages were surrounded by vast rice fields and thick bamboo groves. The farmers were genuine and friendly. Country kids enjoyed a great carefree life playing cheerfully by their buddies and dear water buffaloes all day long…

Then came the wars, several of them, destructive ones. All quickly turned to be ruins. Beautiful life, ancient architectures and old buildings last mostly in fading memories… Somewhere deep in the Red River Delta, there is a miracle: the old monuments and architectures survived the destruction of wars, defied the destruction of natural disasters and time. The village has a strange yet utterly Vietnamese name: Nom Village.
