THE BA NA
Derivatives: Ba Na (To Lo, Krem, Con Kde, Ala Cong, Krang).
Population: 174,456 people (as of 1999).
Locality: Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Binh Dinh and Phu Yen Provinces.
Customs and Culture
The Ba Na live in houses-on-stilts. The community house is called Nha Rong which is tall symbolizing the man's power. Nha Rong is where the men meet for communitty's works.
Language: The Ba Na language belongs to the Mon Khmer Group.
Dress: The men wear loincloths and the women wear a short-sleeved vest and a sarong.
