Derivatives: Brau, Brao
Population: 313 people (as of 1999) Locality: Kon Tum Province. Customs and Culture It's a tradition for the Brau to have tattoo on their faces and bodies. They live in houses-on-stilts. Matriarchy is more dominant in the Brau society. After wedding, the man has to live with his wife family before returning to his family many years later. Language: The Brau language belongs to the Mon-Khmer Group. Dress: The men often wear loincloths and the women wear sarongs.
Economy: The Brau involves on-the-move life and practise slash-and-burn cultivation.
