Con Dao Town

Ba Ria Vung Tau Province has 2 cities: Ba Ria and Vung Tau. While the former is the provincial capital, the latter is the bigger. For long, Vung Tau has always been a popular weekend holiday spots for wealthy families from Saigon (or Ho Chi Minh City). There are numerous beaches in Vung Tau City and along the scenic coastal road to Binh Thuan Province.

While Vung Tau is getting overdeveloped and touristy, the other beaches are some how not much visited. The beaches at Long Hai and Ho Tram are getting lots of investments nowadays and soon these will turn into destinations with luxury resorts and casinos. Apart from the beaches, there is the peaceful island of Con Dao and the hot-spring of Binh Chau. Veterans may like to visit the former battlefield at Nui Dat – Long Tan and learn about the history here during the Vietnam War.
