Vietnam New Year Holidays in 2012

January in 2012 is a BIG MONTH for the Vietnamese as there are 2 new year celebrations with long public holidays in Vietnam. These two big events will result in closing of banks, governmental offices and these may lead to intermittent operations of travel offices, of local tour operators, of restaurants,...and other travel-related service providers in the country.

Vietnam Airlines to Begin London Flights

On 1Dec2011, Vietnam Airlines officially announces to begin direct flights on 8Dec2011 between Hanoi (Vietnam)/Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and London via Gatwich Airport. Initially, there will be 4 flights per week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from either Hanoi Noi Bai Airport or Ho Chi Minh City Airport to London Gatwich Airport. The flights from Vietnam will depart at 23:00hrs and from London at 12:20hrs (local times).

Flights Resume at Hue Phu Bai Airport

Flights resume at Hue Phu Bai Airport from 14-June-2011 after 1 month of closure for repair. Work was carried out and completed as planned. Vietnam Airlines resumes its 3 daily flights between Hue Phu Bai Airport and Hanoi Noi Bai Airport; 4 daily flights between Hue Phu Bai Airport and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).

All trips operated by Paradissa will resume as usual from 14-June-2011.

Vietnam Public Holidays in April 2011

There are 2 major public holidays occasions in Vietnam in April, 2011 which involve closing of banks and governmental offices. The Death Anniversary of Hung Kings is on 12-April-2011 and governmental offices are closed on the 11th and 12th of April, 2011; some banks are closed on these 2 days. Governmental offices are open on Saturday, 16-April-2011 in compensation for holiday on 11-April-2011. Reunification Day (30/04) and May Day (1/5) are on Saturday and Sunday respectively, hence Public Holidays will start from 30-April-2011 through 3-May-2011. Work will resume from 4-May-2011.

Vietnam Hue Airport Closed for Repair

According to the authority of Phu Bai Airport in Hue Vietnam, the airport is closed for 1 month from 13-May-2011 through 13-June-2011 for repair. All flights to and from Phu Bai Airport will resume on the 14th of June, 2011. Those travellers who have booked your tours in Vietnam with Paradissa which have Hue on your itinerary are to be diverted to Da Nang Airport or changed to arrive in/depart from Hue at Hue train station.
