Con Dao Island

Con Dao Island is in fact an archipelago of 16 islands in southern Vietnam. The islands offer deserted sandy beaches and untouched national parks with diverse ecosystem. The travellers to Con Dao can choose a relaxing holiday on the beach, a challenging trekking adventure in the national park, a spectacular scuba-diving trip to explore the colorful coral reefs or to watch the sea turtles at night...

The 40-minute flight from Ho Chi Minh City offers spectacular scene of Con Dao from above. Con Son Airport is
on Con Son Island (the biggest one of the archipelago).

From Con Son Airport, it takes 15minutes to get to Con Dao Town. There are some good bungalows
and resorts right on the main beach of the town.

After checking into the hotel, you can have a tour to the old prisons where Vietnamese patriots

were jailed during the wars.

If the relics recall too hard a time for you, then you may like to get close to the sea water to take in

fresh air and to be overwhelmed by the turquoise blue color.

Or you can travel further to the south of the island and have timeless moments on the fine

sand of Bai Nhat Beach. Please be warned that the wind is very strong around this site in late

afternoon.

If you want to engage more into the local life, then you'd better head to the local market or to the 914 Pier

in the afternoon where the trading of seafood catch takes place.

And please don't forget that it is stunning on Con Dao Island at dawn and at sunset; but you'll have to know

the vantage points to catch these moments...
