 Traveling to Tam Coc, we can have a 2-hour trip in little rowing boats weaving through the mountains and rice paddies. There are 3 underwater caves that you’ll travel through on the journey. After each cave, it is a secret enclosed valley with towering mountains all around. Added to the amazing landscape are scenes of farmers tending to their rice just by the riverside and goats climbing the vertical cliffs looking for food; you’ll have your photographs more vivid!

 Do not miss to climb to the top of Hang Mua where you get 360-degree views of the unbelievable countryside. The landscape looks mysterious in the early morning and late afternoon which makes your photos really full of charm. Say if you happen to come during the golden rice period, then you do have to get to the top of Hang Mua at midday to get sensational photographs of the valleys filled up with golden colors and amazing mountains around them.

Visiting Tam Coc on foot may make you tired after a while, then you can choose to cycle amid the rice fields through villages or amid the amazing mountains. You can cycle to Thai Vi Temple, Bich Dong Pagoda, Hoa Lu Ancient Capital or through peaceful villages...

The best time to travel to Tam Coc is early June and late September when the rice is about to be harvested. But if you come at other times of the year, you’ll get lovely photos of Ninh Binh anyway.
