Thanh Hoa Guide

Thanh Hoa is located in the north of the Central Region of Vietnam, 160km south of Ha Noi. The province is bordered to the north by Son La, Hoa Binh and Ninh Binh Provinces; to the west by Laos; to the east by the East Vietnam Sea and to the South by Nghe An Province.

Ninh Binh Guide

Ninh Binh is tucked deep to the south-western corner the Red River Delta and characterized by lotus flower lakes, towering limestone mountains, vast rice paddies and evergreen untouched forests. Hoa Lu a district of Ninh Binh was the capital city of Vietnam in the 10th century A.D. Cuc Phuong National Park of Ninh Binh is among the best preserved national parks in Vietnam and was the starting point of the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trails in the War.

Ha Tay Guide

From August 2008, Ha Tay has been integrated into Ha Noi, so there's no province officially called Ha Tay in Vietnam now. Paradissa still retains this travel guide section to make it less confusing for our travellers.

Ha Tay is one of the biggest provinces of Vietnam with its area virtually surrounding Ha Noi. The capital town of Ha Tay Province is Ha Dong Town which from the 11th century has been famous for the fine silk. Visit Van Phuc Village in Ha Dong now you can still sample of the fine silk of this area.

Bac Giang Guide

Bac Giang Province is bordered to the north and north-east by Lang Son, to the east and south-east by Quang Ninh, to the south by Hai Duong and Bac Ninh, to the south-west by Hanoi and to the west by Thai Nguyen. Bac Giang is not much known to the travelers to Vietnam. There is not really good infrastructure for tourism in the province yet.

Mai Chau Guide

Mai Chau of Hoa Binh Vietnam is a little valley surrounded by green mountains and dotted with lakes, paddy fields, rivers and houses on stilts of the local Thai people. Driving from Ha Noi to Son La or Mai Chau, most travellers would stop at the entrance to Mai Chau which offers the breathtaking panoramic view of the area.

Lao Cai Guide

Lao Cai Province of Vietnam is located in the north-western region of the country. Lao Cai shares border with China to the north, with Ha Giang to the east, with Yen Bai to the southeast and south, and with Lai Chau to the west. The capital of the province is Lao Cai City, 300km north-west of Hanoi. The province possesses sublime untouched natural beauties, rich and colorful ethnic cultures, and has long been a popular tourist attraction for the Vietnamese tourists as well as for foreign visitors.

Thai Nguyen Guide

Thai Nguyen Province was the capital of the liberated zone of Viet Bac in the resistance war against the French in the late 1940s and early 1950s. The province shares the border with Bac Kan Province to the north, with Lang Son and Bac Giang Provinces to the east; with Hanoi to the south and the provinces of Vinh Phuc and Tuyen Quang to the west. The capital city of the province is Thai Nguyen City, 67km from Hanoi.

Lai Chau Guide

Lai Chau is a mountainous province, located to the extreme North-West of Vietnam. Lai Chau shares border with China to the north and north-west, with Lao Cai Province to the east, with Yen Bai to the south-east, with Son La to the south, with Dien Bien to the south, south-west and west.

Dien Bien Guide

Dien Bien Province is located in the North-West of Vietnam. Dien Bien shares border with China to the north-west, with Lai Chau to the north and north-east, with Son La to the east and south-east and south, with Laos to the south-west and west. Dien Bien has an international border-crossing with Laos at Tay Trang (Vietnam) – Sop Hun (Laos).

Son La Guide

Son La is 280km north-west of Hanoi. Son La Province is bordered to the east by Lao Cai, Yen Bai and Phu Tho Provinces, to the south-east by Hoa Binh and Thanh Hoa Provinces, to the south by Laos, to the west by Dien Bien and Lai Chau Provinces.

Hoa Binh Guide

Hoa Binh is a mountainous province in north-western Vietnam. The province is bordered to the north by Phu Tho, to the east by Hanoi, to the southeast by Ha Nam and Ninh Binh, to the south by Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa, to the west by Son La. The provincial capital city is 74km south-west of Hanoi.

Yen Bai Guide

Yen Bai, a land of the rugged mountains that conceal so many records of history, of the breathtaking mountain passes which made many battles of Vietnam into legends, of the evergreen tea plantations which hypnotize the travelers passing by, of the golden rice terraces which have defined the standards of the wild beauty of north-western Vietnam, of the ethnic minorities whose life has remained unchanged for centuries, of the fresh hill stations whose climate remains almost unchanged all year round... is not yet on the tour itineraries or travel plans of most travellers to Vietnam.
