The Van Long Wetland Reserve is a system of limestone mountains, wild moor, flooded fields,... covering 3,000 hectares. Van Long is 17km north of Ninh Binh City. There are rivers, underwater caves,... at Van Long which make it habitats for several wildlife species.

A birding tour at Van Long lasts anywhere from 2 hours to 2 days. Longer stay at Van Long allows for trips to explore the amazing countryside in this area. At Van Long, you can spot several water bird species: coot, eurasian moorhen, asian openbill, different species of kingfishers, different species of pipits, egets, bitterns... Van Long is home to the highly critically endangered species of Delacour's langur which is present nowhere else on earth.
