Ninh Thuan Province is in the south of the Central Region of Vietnam, bordered to the north by Khanh Hoa Province, to the east by the East Vietnam Sea, to the south by Binh Thuan Province and to the west by Lam Dong Province.

The capital of Ninh Thuan Province is Phan Rang - Thap Cham City, 105km south of Nha Trang, 150km north of Phan Thiet City, 350km north of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), 110km east of Da Lat. Ninh Thuan can be visited easily by road, by rail or by air.

Ninh Thuan terrain goes lower from the north-west to the south-east which includes mountainous area mostly to the west and north-west (63.2%), uneven and hilly terrain in the middle (14.4%), and mostly flat area along the coast (22.4). The province has 105km of coastline with myriad beaches and sand dunes.

The Dinh River is the only river system in Ninh Thuan with 3 tributaries: Cai River, Da River and Lot River. The Dinh River flows from the north-west to the south-east and discharges its water into the sea at Phan Rang - Thap Cham City.

Ninh Thuan Province has a tropical monsoon climate with 2 seasons per year: the rainy season from May through November and the dry season from December to April. The average annual rainfall is 700-800mm along the coast and Phan Rang Thap Cham City, annual rainfalls are higher in the mountains (around 1,100mm). Natural evaporation in the province may range from 670 to 1287mm per year, in some regions natural water evaporation is higher than the rainfall. Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan are the most dry provinces of Vietnam with average humidity of 75-77%.

Ninh Thuan is off-the-tourist track and the province is virtually more of an untouched beauty. There are sugar-white sand beaches along the 105km of coastline of Ninh Thuan Province, of which the most famous are Binh Tien Beach, Ca Na Beach, Ninh Chu Beach. At some beaches, luxury hotels and resorts are available. The sand dunes of Ninh Thuan such as Nam Cuong and Phuoc Dinh offers great photo opportunities. Besides, there are Cham ruins like Po Klong Garai, Hoa Lai, Porome along with Bau Truc Ceramics Village that bring you back to more understanding of the Cham culture.

Binh Tien Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam at the foot of Chua Mountain and on the border between Ninh Thuan and Khanh Hoa Province. To visit Binh Tien Beach from Phan Rang – Thap Cham, you travel north along National Road No. 1 for 30km, then turn into a smaller road which lead to Binh Tien Beach. The beach is 10km from the T-junction.

Vinh Hy Bay is 42km north-east of Phan Rang - Thap Cham City. The bay is a secluded area with fishing villages and pristine beaches formed by encircling mountains.

Ninh Chu Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches of Vietnam with over 10km of pristine yellowish sandy beach and a little forest of casuarinas trees. Ninh Chu is 6km east of Phan Rang Thap Chap City.

Ca Na Beach is 32km south of Phan Rang Thap Cham City, 114km north of Phan Thiet City, on the border between Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan Province.

Things to do, Luxury Tours, Luxury Beach Holidays and Vacations in Ninh Thuan

Tourism at Ninh Thuan is still not as developed as in neighboring Binh Thuan and Khanh Hoa. Local tour companies and travel agencies mostly offer tours for local Vietnamese tourists to other regions in Vietnam. There are some boat operators offering cruises on the Vinh Hy Bay and transport companies assisting transfers within the province.

There are several hotels and resorts in Ninh Thuan ranging from simple guest houses to luxury 5-star hotels. Most of the luxury hotels and luxury beach resorts are on Ninh Chu Beach, 6km east of Phan Rang Thap Cham City. Ninh Chu Beach is the best beach in Ninh Thuan Province. While luxury travel services are not as readily available as in Mui Ne – Phan Thiet and Nha Trang, but beach holidays at Ninh Chu are more peaceful and relaxing and the beach is not as crowded as the others.

Getting there and away
There are daily flights from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang to Nha Trang – Cam Ranh Airport which is 50km north of Phan Rang Thap Cham City.

There are daily Re-unification Express Trains between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City which stop at Thap Cham Train Station located in Phan Rang – Thap Cham City and close to Ninh Chu Beach.

National Highway No. 1 connecting the major cities in Vietnam runs through Ninh Thuan Province, National Road No. 27 connects Ninh Thuan and the Central Highlands of Vietnam.  So, the tourist attractions of Ninh Thuan Province can be conveniently combined with those in neighboring provinces.
