Quang Ninh Province of Vietnam is located in the North-East of the country. Quang Ninh is bordered to the north by China, to the east and south-east by the East Vietnam Sea, to the south by Hai Phong, to the south-west by Hai Duong Province and to the west by Bac Giang and Lang Son Provinces. The province possesses a rugged coastline of 250km.

Son La is 280km north-west of Hanoi. Son La Province is bordered to the east by Lao Cai, Yen Bai and Phu Tho Provinces, to the south-east by Hoa Binh and Thanh Hoa Provinces, to the south by Laos, to the west by Dien Bien and Lai Chau Provinces.

Stung Treng is located to the north-east of Cambodia. The province shares the border with Laos to the north, with Ratanakiri Province to the east, with Mondulkiri and Kratie to the south, with Preah Vihear and Kompong Thom to the west.

Svay Rieng is a small and poor province in south-eastern Cambodia. Svay Rieng Province shares the border with Prey Veng Province to the north and west, with Vietnam to the east, south-east and south. There is little thing to do in the province, most travellers make journey through it traveling by land between Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Phnom Penh.

Takeo Province is located to the south-west of Cambodia, bordered to the east and the north by Kandal Province, to the south by Vietnam, to the west by Kampot and Kampong Speu Provinces. The provincial capital is Takeo Town, 77km south of Phnom Penh via NH2.

Tam Dao Hill Station is perched on the slope of Tam Dao Mountain Range, in Vinh Phuc Province, in the North West of Vietnam. The town has an average elevation of over 1,000m above sea level and is cool all year round.

Thai Nguyen Province was the capital of the liberated zone of Viet Bac in the resistance war against the French in the late 1940s and early 1950s.

Thanh Hoa is located in the north of the Central Region of Vietnam, 160km south of Ha Noi. The province is bordered to the north by Son La, Hoa Binh and Ninh Binh Provinces; to the west by Laos; to the east by the East Vietnam Sea and to the South by Nghe An Province.
