Tam Dao National Park is 65km northwest of Hanoi. The national park was established in 1977 with total area of 19,000ha and was expanded to 36,883ha in 1996. The name of the national park is from the name of the mountain range in the national park: the Tam Dao Mountain Range which streches 80km long and 10-15km wide.

The Tam Dao Mountain Range has 20 peaks with elevation over 1,000m above sea level, of which the highest is Tam Dao North of 1,592m. And the three peaks that form the name of the mountain range: Thiên Thị (1,375 m), Thạch Bàn (1,388 m), Phù Nghĩa (1.300 m).

Tam Dao is home to 1,436 floral species and 1,141 fauna species.

Tam Dao National Park is home to 239 bird species of which 9 species is endemic to northern Vietnam and 5 species is endemic to Vietnam. Paradissa organizes birding tours to the Tam Dao National Park as well as to other bird watching sites in all over Vietnam.
