The Son Tay Citadel was built in 1822 under King Ming Mang. The citadel is surrounded by walls with the total perimeter of 1306.8m and moats with the total perimeter of 1729m. The walls were 4.4m with gates open to the North, South, East, West. The Son Tay Citadel is in Son Tay City, 40km west of Hanoi.

Sung Sot Cave (The Cave of Amazement) is one of the biggest caves of Halong Bay, 3 hours' boat cruise from the shore. The cave is over 500m in length and divided into different sections.

The Ta Chi Nhu Mountain (aka Mount Phu Song Sung) in Tram Tau District of Yen Bai Province, which is 2,979m above sea level, is the 6th highest mountain peak in Vietnam.

The Ta Xua Mountain in Tram Tau District of Yen Bai Province, which is 2,865m above sea level, is the 10th highest mountain peak in Vietnam.

Tam Coc is a popular tourist attraction in Ninh Binh for amazing rice fields dissected by breathtaking mountains. But little do people know that there is a wonderful market in Tam Coc which has the atmosphere of markets in northern Vietnam several decades ago.

Tam Coc is 7 km from Ninh Binh City and Hoa Lu Ancient Capital. Tam Coc is a flooded area with towering mountains jutting out of green rice paddies.

Tam Dao Hill Station is perched on the slope of Tam Dao Mountain Range, in Vinh Phuc Province, in the North West of Vietnam. The town has an average elevation of over 1,000m above sea level and is cool all year round.

Tam Dao National Park is 65km northwest of Hanoi. The national park was established in 1977 with total area of 19,000ha and was expanded to 36,883ha in 1996. The name of the national park is from the name of the mountain range in the national park: the Tam Dao Mountain Range which streches 80km long and 10-15km wide.

Tam Thanh Cave is the biggest cave in Lang Son City, next to the To Thi Mountain, 2km from the city center. The cave is 400m long and has openings to both sides of the mountain. There are different sections inside the cave, the outer one is home to the Tam Thanh Pagoda. A trip to the Tam Thanh Cave combined with the To Thi Mountain could take 2-3 hours easily.

In the seventh lunar month of 1010, King Ly Cong Uan moved the capital city of Vietnam from Hoa Lu (in Ninh Binh Province now) to Dai La City which he renamed Thang Long or the City of Ascending Dragon, which is nowadays Hanoi. In the same year, lots of work were started to build palaces and auxiliary buildings to house the royal family and the royal court.

Thanh Hoa Province is located 160 km south of Hanoi. Thanh Hoa, which stretches from the Laotian border to the East Vietnam Sea, is rarely visited by the foreign travellers to Vietnam.

Thay Pagoda (The Master Pagoda) was first built from the 12 century by Master Tu Dao Hanh at the base of the Sai Son Mountain, Sai Son Commune, Quoc Oai District. The pagoda location formerly belonged to Ha Tay Province which has been integrated into Hanoi nowadays.
